We planned, directed, and produced the project film for Sea of Time TOHOKU, an ongoing initiative by contemporary artist Tatsuo Miyajima since 2017.
The Sea of Time TOHOKU project was conceived by Miyajima in response to the Great East Japan Earthquake, and is being realized together with the people of Tohoku. In this participatory artwork, approximately 3,000 individuals—primarily from the disaster-affected regions—set the time intervals for LED counters that symbolize the eternity of life. Through these countless contributions, a single, collective work emerges.
