Prada Re-Nylon / Life with the Circulation Makoto Tanijiri・Architect

OUTLINE

Prada, a brand that leads the fashion industry with its advanced style and creativity, launched the Re-Nylon Project under the theme of “circular luxury.” For WIRED’s online platform that introduced this concept, we were in charge of planning and film direction.

Re-Nylon is a new material regenerated and purified from global waste such as ocean plastics, discarded fishing nets, and textile scraps. This initiative reflects Prada’s statement of intent to pursue both sustainability and luxury.

In the film, architect and entrepreneur Makoto Tanijiri appears, speaking across the fields of nature, material, architecture, and fashion. Through his reflections—“What kind of richness can circulation bring?” “What kind of thought is embodied in regenerated materials?”—the work is composed of still images, video, and text.

As if listening to the depth of time and the voices of meaningful materials, the film conveys, in a quiet tone, the sense of “future luxury” inherent in regenerated nylon.
