Kyoto University Research Archive Publication Sustainable Gastronomy, Vol. 3

OUTLINE

We were responsible for the creative direction, editing, and photography of the research archive book for Kyoto University’s fieldwork project Sustainable Gastronomy.

From the design phase through to the editorial process, we carefully structured the book to make the underlying ideas and methodologies of the research visible. While the previous edition focused on “agriculture” and “food” through visits to local sites, this time the project re-examined the very concept of “sustainable gastronomy,” expanding the scope beyond food to include clothing, housing, and cultural contexts.

Through this process, we designed the book’s visual and textual language to weave together the diverse perspectives and questions that emerged, bringing them into a coherent whole.
